Lashana Lynch is going to be a mom.
The British actress made the reveal during the New York City premiere of her latest television series The Day of the Jackal on Oct. 17. Lashana, 38, let the fashion do the honors, as she put her baby bump on display in a dress by Ottolinger.
Keep things simple and chic, the sleeveless dress—with cutouts on the sides—included the print of a T-shirt and tie on the chest and leopard print that ran down the bottom and on the sides. Lashana kept her jewels minimal with a pair of simple gold hoops from the designer and shoes by Louboutin.
“I wanted to keep the look really simple, poignant and effective,” she told Vogue in an interview published on Oct. 17. “I feel comfortable and at ease, but also in charge of myself. Some red carpet gowns, although beautiful and stunning, feel like you’re putting on a different part of yourself, whereas here I feel like I’m celebrating the female figure.”
The No Time to Die star’s announcement came as a surprise to her co-stars Eddie Redmayne and Ursula Corbero, who appeared to be visibly shocked when Lashana arrived on the carpet.
According to Vogue, the Bob Marley: One Love actress is expecting her first child with partner Zackary Momoh. No additional details about her pregnancy have been shared.
While she hasn’t spoken publicly about her relationship, Lashana said that she keeps her circle small and feels loved.
“I’m feeling really loved. I’m very discerning about the people that I have in my life,” she said while speaking with Interview magazine in December 2022. “I have 2.5 friends and it will probably stay that way forever. And everyone I have in my life respects and honors who I am at my core. They bring out my higher self and remind me of what’s important at every single moment. I feel loved in my soul, and sometimes you don’t get that. Some people don’t get to feel it in a whole lifetime.”
